So who’s going to win all of these prizes we keep telling you about? Well we certainly don’t know, but we do know who will be deciding! We’re pleased to introduce the 2weeks2makeit Judging Panel!
After hearing 'Autobahn' by Kraftwerk in 1975, Nick knew his career would be in music - he soon persuaded his parents to buy a Korg MS10 synthesiser on credit to be repaid by the offer of a life time of washing up (this was before dishwashers!).
He soon embarked on a life-long career in music and media. After doing a turn as a tea boy in a studio in Hathersage he became a recording engineer and record producer working with a diverse range of local bands and musicians in the 1980’s including an album with Pulp.
After 10 years behind the desk, he then moved into the business side of the industry selling over 20m records globally as Managing Director at The Music Factory through such acts as Jive Bunny and leading Hard House phenomenon Tidy. He has also worked extensively in Children’s music products and created visual content and developed YouTube channels with over 300m views.
Recently Nick has run a successful content production business which has recently seen him write and direct a short film project starring Vic Reeves, Jane Horrocks and John Thomson which filmed in Sheffield and Rotherham in 2017.
Lenny Bedford is an A&R Representative and Multimedia Specialist for Sheffield based Artist Development Company, Alya Records (DMF Digital).
Lenny is the Alya Records tech guy. Being the Multimedia Specialist, he makes the labels artists/bands and their releases look pretty.
Having a knack for making music videos, Lenny has directed and produced music videos for artists on the label, namely Deadset Dream’s ‘Hallways’ and Ian Britt’s ‘Save A Whisper’.
After judging 2016’s AMP Awards Sheffield Final, Lenny is ready to bring that judging precision to 2Weeks2MakeIt.
Rob Speranza is the brain behind 2weeks2makeit and the founder of The South Yorkshire Filmmakers’ Network.
But first and foremost, Rob is an in-demand, skilful film producer and has produced five feature films and over 400 shorts, music videos and short doc films!
Thanks to Rob and the regular events he curates around the city, Sheffield has seen a burst of new film talent on the scene in Yorkshire and further afield over the past twelve years.
He will be looking for skill and technical ability but also creative and resourceful filmmaking.
Now you know who you’ve got to impress, so good luck working on all your videos!
