Working in a variety of roles in the UK film and TV industry over the last twenty years, Colin has built up a range of skills that he regularly shares.
Colin is Joint Managing Director of Independent Media Investments, Studio of the North and FearFactory. Key elements of this role are the development, financing and production of television and feature films. Amongst the 17 feature films that IMI have supported are the BAFTA winning “This Little Life” and the much acclaimed “Acid House”. Television production ranges from the 27 part “Classic Marques” for the Discovery Channel, through “Sparkhouse” for the BBC to “A gypsies Tale” by Shane Meadows for Channel Four.
Colin’s excellent knowledge of the creative aspects of media production has seen him develop links with many UK and European regions using the various state funding regimes to progress film and media projects. Colin has served as a Decision Maker/tutor on the internationally renound EAVE training course.
Recent credits include Feature Film Consultant on romantic comedy Chicken Tikka Massala (2005) and Production Executive on television documentary Battaglia, which was shot in Sicily.
Colin also co-ordinated the UK input into Crea.Net, a UK/Spanish/Italian internet based script development tool.
Having been involved in a number of activities from lecturing to writing on copyright issues, Colin brings with him an integral understanding of all aspects of the film industry, from pitching to production, from the global to the regional.
