Entries for the 2017 British Independent Film Awards are open, and will close on the 1st September 2017.
BIFA has a strong focus on new and emerging filmmakers, with five categories dedicated to newcomers to the industry. One of these is the Best British Short Film award – a category that we believe can highlight the best work from the UK’s student and emerging filmmakers. We’d like your help with letting young filmmakers know about this category.
Entering films to BIFA is free. In order to be eligible, short films must:
Be of British origin (i.e. made by a British production company or team) and…
i) Screen at one of our eligible festivals (list here)
ii) Win any award during the eligibility period (Dec. 2016 to Nov. 2017). This includes local awards (i.e. university society or film festival awards).
If you have an eligible short film, we would welcome an entry from you.
