Check out a new opportunity with Lexus Short Films, an initiative offered in partnership with the Weinstein Company to help filmmakers make the films they want to make with budget, scale and support – open today for it’s 4th edition.
Selecting from open, free submissions of past work – four filmmakers will be selected to each write and direct a short film produced by The Weinstein Company, with the resources, equipment, mentoring, and promotional support this affords.
Their theme this year is TRANSFORMATION, ideas that elevate the ordinary to the extraordinary. They encourage inventive, creative filmmakers, and want to foster up and coming talent and new voices.
You can see the last programme of shorts by LSF shortlisted directors here to get a sense of the scale of this opportunity and of the creative freedom afforded, as well as the transformatory potential for granted filmmakers.
Films in past year’s have played more than 65 festivals, winning various awards, and now have a home on Amazon Prime.
There’s no obligation to mention or feature Lexus in the film, and filmmakers have high levels of creative control, and the chance to make their own work, at budget, with support and resources, and see it produced by the Weinstein Company.
Submissions are now open, with a deadline of 24th August to send your work via withoutabox.
