Our friends at UK Jewish Film return again with the Pears Short Film Fund, offering two grants of £13,500 for the production of a 10 minute short film (drama, animation or factual) with a Jewish theme of significance to both Jewish and general audiences. The areas of relevance include interfaith, assimilation, integration, asylum seekers and issues that connect with Jewish life, history or cultures worldwide. Please note that you don’t need to be Jewish to submit.
Winning films from previous years have gone on to have great festival success around the globe and have created great new opportunities for the filmmakers. Previously, short film ‘Sidney Turtelbaum’ was shortlisted for an Oscar and ‘samuel613’ was nominated for a BAFTA.
The deadline for applications is 7 January 2019 and the scheme is open to all filmmakers resident in the UK.
