The South Yorkshire Filmmakers Network (est. 2005) is a not-for-profit organisation that promotes and enables film-based networking and filmmaking activities in South Yorkshire.
We provide networking opportunities almost every month, host film screenings celebrating the work of the region's filmmakers and beyond, and host competitions like 2Weeks 2Make It, the exciting music video competition, each year.
We also operate as a production company because Rob Speranza is a notable producer in the region, working on feature films, docs and high-end short films. Rob runs the South Yorkshire Filmmakers Network and is its co-founder. His credits include feature films 'Dementamania', 'Inbred', 'Entity' and 'Small Creatures'. Most recently, he co-produced feature film Arthur and Merlin, which involved many SYFN members and was partly shot in the South Yorkshire region.
Basically, the Network provides local filmmakers with opportunities in media production that would otherwise be unavailable to them. This includes training initiatives, competitions, film screenings and talks, and the provision of our professional production service at low/negotiable rates.
We offer quite a lot - so please browse around our new website and check out all we've got to offer!
